A Royal Celebration: Our Princess & Knight 5th Birthday Party

There's something magical about watching your little girl turn five. To celebrate this milestone, we decided to throw her a Princess and Knight themed birthday party — a perfect blend of sparkly gowns and shining armor, fit for both the princesses and the brave knights in her life.

Setting the Scene

We went all out on decorations, mixing homemade touches with some fun finds from Amazon. A pink castle tablescape anchored the main table, complete with cutouts of everyone's favorite princesses standing watch over the snacks. A castle-print tablecloth with gold glitter turrets tied the whole look together, and we filled a rustic basket with chips and treats for easy grazing throughout the party.

Activity Stations Fit for Royalty

No princess and knight party is complete without hands-on fun, so we set up several decorate-your-own stations to keep our little guests busy and creative:

  • Decorate Your Own Crown — Gold crowns, gems, stickers, and markers gave every princess the chance to design a one-of-a-kind crown to wear for the rest of the party.
  • Decorate Your Own Knight Mask — For the brave knights in attendance, blank masks and craft supplies let them design their own armor-inspired look.
  • Decorate Your Own Wand — A magical touch for the princesses to craft their very own wand.
  • Canvas Painting — A creative station where kids could paint and take home their own mini masterpiece.
  • Decorate Your Own Cupcake — Because what's a birthday without a little frosting and sprinkles chaos?

We set up two separate craft tables — one in soft pink for the princess crafts, and one in royal purple for the knight-themed activities — so everyone had space to spread out and get creative.

Games, Food, and Fun

Beyond the craft stations, we kept the excitement going with a piñata, plenty of pizza, and snacks to keep everyone fueled between activities. It was the perfect mix of structured fun and free play, giving kids the freedom to bounce between stations as they pleased.

A Party to Remember

With about 25 guests in attendance, the house was full of laughter, glitter, and the happy chaos only a room full of excited kids can bring. Watching everyone move from station to station — crowning themselves princesses, suiting up as knights, and digging into pizza and cupcakes — made all the planning worth it.

Between the homemade decorations, the thoughtful activity stations, and a guest list full of little royals, this birthday party truly became one for the books. Here's to many more magical years ahead for our now five-year-old princess!
